One rough Saturday morning was all it took.
Coach Card started the way most good ideas do — out of frustration.
I'm a little league coach. For a couple of seasons I tried to manage lineups with a tangle of Excel formulas. They worked, kind of, until they didn't. One week I switched to a magnetic board with little player tags. Then, five minutes before first pitch, I knocked the whole thing over in the dugout. Pieces everywhere. Parents watching. Kids waiting. Inning starting.
That night I realized other coaches were almost certainly doing the same thing — fighting spreadsheets, juggling whiteboards, scribbling lineups on the back of a snack-shack napkin. We're volunteers. We just want the kids to have a great game.
So I built Coach Card. It does the boring math: who plays where, how to rotate fairly, what the batting order should be. It runs on whatever device you have at the field. And it's free — because nobody should have to pay to volunteer.
If it saves you ten minutes before a game, or one knocked-over magnet board, it was worth building.
